Youth & Education

Investing in the Next Generation

At Penetanguishene Legion Branch 68, we believe that the future of remembrance, respect, and responsibility begins with our youth. Through the Legion’s Youth & Education programs, we are proud to support and inspire young Canadians in their personal growth, community involvement, and understanding of Canada’s military history.

Our initiatives include:

   •   Remembrance Contests: Each year, we encourage students to participate in national poster, essay, and poetry competitions, fostering creativity while honouring the sacrifices of Canada’s Veterans.

   •   Literary and Poster Awards: Branch 68 proudly acknowledges local winners, with entries advancing through zone, district, and national levels.

   •   Bursary Program: The Legion supports post-secondary education through a bursary fund for students with military or RCMP family ties, helping ease financial burdens while recognising the value of service and sacrifice.

   •   Cadet Involvement: We actively support and collaborate with local cadet corps, reinforcing leadership, citizenship, and remembrance among young people.

   •   Public Speaking and School Outreach: Our members are honoured to participate in school visits, Remembrance Day services, and community education initiatives, sharing stories that bridge generations and deepen understanding. Our goal is to empower youth to carry forward the torch of remembrance and become engaged, informed citizens. We are proud to walk beside them on that journey.
